Diane grew up surrounded by animals. She began working in dog rescue in the 80's and has worked with various animal rescue groups and shelters all over the western US. She is passionate in her belief that pets are family. She has been on the board since the foundation of the group, and has received the "Volunteer of the Year" award for Iron County in 2013 for her work in the community.

Vice President - Lynne Brown
Lynne is originally from Connecticut and has worked at SUU for 29 years. She was raised as a "Cat person" with disdain for stinky dogs, but changed her mind when she met her first Golden Retriever. Her current family has dogs and cats and everyone gets along great. They also love frequent hikes out in the Three Peaks rec area and look forward to the time when a dog park will also be an option!

Chelsie is from a family of animal lovers. There has always been a dog in the house and it was viewed as part of the family. She was involved in 4-H showing rabbits and also competed on a professional level. When it was time to be on her own, of course there was room for a dog in the house. As a family we have rescued several dogs and fostered a few as well. We are part of this group because we believe in a leash free area for our and other dogs to run free and happy.
Treasurer - Kim Ritz
Treasurer - Kim Ritz
Kim started off in the group as a member of the location committee. Our task was to locate potential sites for a dog park and provide input and ideas about the layout, structures, etc. I agreed to be the Treasurer of the group as we continued to grow and learned to navigate the complex nature of fundraising and politics. My life has taken many twists and turns this year, but my dog Gadget is always a highlight in my life. I enjoy spending time with him at the various dog parks in Washington County and am even more anxious for one in Cedar City!

Orion Gallagher - Board Member
Orion Gallagher - Board Member
Orion Gallagher has always been an animal lover, even when he didn't always have the opportunity to have a larger pet while growing up. He rescued his first dog, Mieko, directly from the Iron County Animal Shelter when she was just a puppy. Along with his wife Chelsie, he has rescued and fostered over a dozen other dogs and cats since. Orion believes that socialization of dogs is very important to their temperament and, as a result, has been working towards Iron County's first dog park for over 3 years.
